It’s crazy to think only a few years ago I’d never had a facial in my life. Now fast forward the years and I’ve been lucky enough to try out my fair share of facials in London with some of the best skincare brands and spas.
I’m always getting asked where the best place for a facial is in London and ultimately it really depends what you are looking for. It might be you are new to facials or maybe you are looking for more of a relaxing pamper treatment.
I’ve put together my favourites and broken them down into categories so you can choose the best one for you.
Best For Wellness
ESPA Mindful Facial
The ESPA Life Spa at the Corinthia has got to be my favourite spa in London. When you walk into the spa you instantly feel calm, I think it must be the smell of all the amazing products or maybe my memories from such a relaxing experience before. You will be amazed by the sheer size of the spa, like how is that even possible in a hotel in London? You can read more about the spa here, but I recently enjoyed the ESPA Mindful Facial. If you are looking to de-stress and relax, then this is the facial for you.
The facial is 90 minutes of bliss, with the therapist taking you through breathing and visualisation techniques, before a very massage led facial with herbal poultice and rose quartz crystals. The facial also includes a hand and arm massage and a scalp massage. If you want something to take your mind away from it all, but also learn more about your skin and leave glowing then this is for you.
ESPA Mindful Facial is £190 and you can book here.
Best For Facial Newbies
Murad Method Facial
The Murad Method Facial is a great facial to get to know your skin better as well as focus on your general wellbeing. Everything about this facial is tailored to you and the facial includes massage techniques, nutrition advice and product recommendations. I always recommend this one as a good starting point for anyone new to facials. Each facial begins with an in-depth, segmented, five zone analysis of the skin, using the letters M.U.R.A.D to reveal the true health of the skin and you will also fill out a wellness wheel ranking different areas including stress, sleep and nutrition. Best For Luxury
Sisley Essential Facial
If you love luxury skincare then try Sisley Essential Facial at Harrods. Behind the counter is their treatment room, where you can enjoy a facial and is a good way to discover products from the brand if luxury skincare is something you want to start investing in. One of my personal favourites from Sisley is their black rose face mask. The facial left my skin feeling glowing and hydrated, a really energising skin pick me up. The best part however is that the booking fee is redeemable against the purchase of two or more Sisley skin care products.
Sisley Essential Facial is available at Harrods and is priced at £50 for 45mins.
Best For Lunchtime
Dermalogica 30 Minute Facial
If you are stretched for time, then Dermalogica 30 Minute Facial at Liberty could be for you. This is a quick facial in the Liberty treatment rooms, but by no means rushed. If you feel your skin is lacking, then with this facial it will have the pick me up it needs. The facial will be suited to your skins needs and concerns and afterwards you will receive your face map, detailing areas to focus on and products that would work well for your skin type. Maybe leave a good 45 minutes for it in total and then just wait for everyone to compliment you on your skin when you go back to work. You can read my full review of the Dermalogica facial here.
Dermalogica Expert Active 30 Min Facial is £35 at Liberty London.
Best For Relaxation
Essential Rose Hydrating Facial
The Savoy Hotel spa is a little haven of bliss in a busy Central London and the facial I would recommend here is the Essential Rose Hydrating Facial. You can choose either 50 mins or I highly recommend the 80 minutes which also includes back massage. This is perfect for all skin types to hydrate the skin and they use Aromatherapy Associates oils and products. The facial has the usual steps, but has lots of massage and the back massage is just an added treat to take you away from it all. Relax afterwards by or in the pool, you’ll love it.
Essential Rose Hydrating Facial is £110 for 50 mins and £140 for 80mins (including back massage) at the Savoy Hotel.
Best For Results
Image Skincare Signature Lift Facial
I recently tried the Image Signature Lift Facial at Privet Body and the results afterwards were amazing. The facial involves an exfoliation with a three-step peel process and again the therapist will choose products best suited to your skin type. For me it was their Vital C range as my skin is dehydrated. This facial I’d say is best if your quite accustomed to facials and want rapid results, show me the glycolic I hear you cry! I’ve never seen my skin glow so much as I did after this facial and Privet Body is a beautiful salon that you will instantly feel comfortable in. Read my Image Signature Lift facial review.
Image Signature Lift Facial is £109.95 and available at Privet Body.
