10 On Trend Coats For Autumn Winter 2015

September 24, 2015

I can’t quite believe it’s come back round to coat weather again, I’m sure I blinked and missed summer. This season there are plenty of coat trends to choose from and so I’ve picked out some of my favourite coats from each trend.  So whether you like it suede, faux fur or plain and simple you can be sure to be stylish this Autumn/Winter.

Top 10 winter coats for AW15

1. Shearling

Shearling is back and this shearling coat from ASOS is a real winner. It’s real leather and will nail the seventies trend that is big this season, an easy one to wear especially if you are not really into that seventies look. Wear with denims and ankle boots and stay warm.

2. Funnel Neck

For this transitional weather, the funnel neck is a great coat, and will save you a scarf for right now anyway, before the cold spells really break in. This coat from Jaeger is 100% wool so will keep you nice and cosy and with the belt round the waist will give you a nice silhouette for all body shapes.

3. Suede

If you have been shopping lately you will know suede is big news this season, from skirts to of course trenchcoats. I like the style of this ASOS suede trench coat with its funky zip pockets and belt, as well as it’s more unusual berry colour, it makes a change from the tan we have been seeing everywhere. Wear with knee-high chunky heeled boots and a big chunky polo neck.

4. Fun Faux Fur

Fur again returns every season, but this time it’s had a bit of a makeover. You definitely will stand out in a crowd in this ASOS pink faux fur coat. I love faux fur coats, they are the only thing that keeps me warm in the colder weather. I love the knee-length of this one so you can really be so snug!

5. Classic Cashmere

M&S have really come up trumps with this coat. This classic double-breasted style not only comes in different colourways but also is cashmere, so you can imagine how soft and warm this will be. It’s such a classic style that it will really suit anyone.

6. Quilted

You can’t beat a quilted coat. If you love an investment coat, that’s practical for all-weather and warm then this is the coat for you. Mango’s quilted coat zips right up to the neck with two side pockets and has white duck down feathers. Basically you’ll be wearing a duvet, I’m jealous.

Winter coats 20157. Leopard Print

Leopard print is a cult classic, but be less Pat Butcher in this BIBA leopard coat. With its detachable fur collar it’s the perfect way to rock the trend. I have a BIBA coat from a couple of years ago and it;s so long-lasting that I will definitely be wearing it again this year.

8. Embroidered

This is the perfect coat to wear now for the transitional period. The classic design from Hobbs, has a beautiful embroidered pattern and can work well in the daytime or for an evening look. It’s very versatile, plus a classic piece to pull out the wardrobe to really impress.

9.Maxi

One key coat trend this season is the maxi coat, the longer the better. I love this Miss Selfridge coat, the colour is gorgeous in tan and I like the belted waist, it is just effortless chic and a great one to wear that will go with everything in your wardrobe.

10. Wrap Over

This style returns for another year, as seen on many celebrities like Kim Kardashian. The style is so easy to wear and super flattering too. This drape coat from Vince looks so cosy and warm and again will go with everything, easy to dress up or wear more casually. It also has leather trims which add a beautiful detailing.
